Ernst Martin Benedikt was an Austrian journalist, writer, poet, publicist, editor and painter. In May 1939 Benedikt fled with his family first to England and then to Sweden. It was not until 1962 that he returned to Austria permanently.
His interviews with leading post-war politicians such as Jan Masaryk, Stanley Baldwin and Herbert C. Hoover caused a sensation.
