Article publié le 14 February 2022

This exhibition traces the history of the Ores family over three generations and their special connection to Poland. It will show how the question of remembrance is dealt with through these generations. How the children and grandchildren of Holocaust victims relate to their homeland.

Oskar Ryszard Ores, born in Krakow in 1923, was forced into the city’s ghetto with his mother and sister. He survived deportation to several concentration camps and was liberated in 1945. He was the only surviving member of his immediate family. Now living in Switzerland and the United States, he maintains an unwavering link to Poland. In particular, he raised funds to equip a hospital in Krakow. His descendants continue this link to the country of origin.
