Until 15 May 2022
The exhibition traces Italian Jewish life in modern and contemporary times. Various works are presented, including “Esther facing Ahasuerus” by Sebastiano Ricci, the “Interior of the Synagogue of Livorno” by Ulvi Liegi and the “Portrait of Giuseppe Garibaldi” by Vittorio Corcos.
To these works are added objects of everyday Jewish life such as the Aron from a synagogue in the Turin ghetto or the suitcase of Matilde Levi, a nurse from the Red Cross in Viterbo. All these testimonies of the exit from the ghetto and of the very active participation in Italian life in the arts as well as in everyday life.
