Exhibition “Robert Guttmann – The Prague Wanderer”

Article publié le 24 March 2022

The museum is staging a reinstallation of the Prague artist’s work from the early 20th century. His paintings and drawings as well as photographs and written documents are in the museum’s possession. An enthusiastic sketcher, who made his drawings on trains, in cafés and bars, Guttmann allows us to immerse ourselves in the Prague of that period and to get close to his characters. He travelled the roads of Europe, often on foot and always motivated by encounters, but was arrested during the war and transferred to the Lodz ghetto where he died of hunger in 1942.
