This exhibition at the Jewish Museum in Vienna examines the delicate issue of love and sexuality in Judaism. This is present from the beginning of the Bible with God’s blessing to Adam and Eve to multiply. The texts refer many times to the sexual blossoming of a couple as a condition for happiness. This presentation examines the role of the shadkhan, counselors such as Dr. Ruth Westheimer, and Judaism’s perspective on contemporary LGBTQ issues.
