‘A Frame of Suffering’ – a special presentation of Marek Oberländer’s “Ghetto”

Published on 18 May 2026

Until 15 June 2026 at the POLIN Museum

This is the first time the museum has exhibited this work in 70 years! A major first for the public, who will be able to view it for two months. This work allowed the artist to express his feelings about his experiences during the war. Marek Oberlander was born in 1922 near Lviv. Having served in the Red Army during the war, he was the only member of his family not to be killed during the Holocaust. After the war, he studied Fine Art in Warsaw. His work allowed him to express his experience of the war and the pain of losing his loved ones.
