Marc Chagall Exhibition: Between Poetry and Spirituality

Published on 7 August 2026

Until 25 October 2026 at the Museo Archeologico Regionale in Aosta.

This exhibition aims to highlight Chagall’s artistic explorations of the Bible, a major theme that runs through his work throughout his life, from Vitebsk to all the museums and places of worship and cultural institutions that house his works. The origins of this theme are explored in the exhibition, beginning with Ambroise Vollard’s commission for the illustration of the Bible in 1930. For this exhibition, which is being held for the first time in Italy, the Marc Chagall National Museum is lending over 120 works from its collections, created between 1922 and 1980.
