Exhibition “Jewish Värmland”

At the Jewish Museum in Stockholm

What remains of Jewish life when the synagogue has been demolished and all traces in the urban landscape have almost vanished? This difficult question is the central theme of this remarkable exhibition, which traces Jewish life in Karlstad and the Värmland region from the 19th century to the present day, through the stories of people, places and memories. Organised in collaboration with the Värmland Museum, the exhibition features photographs, archive documents and personal accounts that illustrate how Jewish families settled in the region, how a community developed, and how it gradually disappeared during the 20th century.Jewish Värmland | Judiska museet
