The painter Soshana is one of the few Austrian artists of the classical modernist movement to have achieved worldwide renown. Forced to leave Austria during the Holocaust, she sought refuge in the United States, where she devoted herself to art, rubbing shoulders throughout her life with figures and sources of inspiration such as Picasso, Giacometti, Jean-Paul Sartre, Albert Schweitzer and Arnold Schoenberg… Her brushes have taken her to paint in places as diverse as Cuba, Japan, China, India, Africa, Italy, Mexico, South-East Asia, the Caribbean and Israel.
