Whilst the Jewish Museum in London is undergoing renovation, it is sharing its collections and taking its Jewish cultural heritage on tour across England. As a result, museums, synagogues and cultural centres are hosting works from the collection and sharing them with their audiences. Local artists from various towns are also passionate about the evolution of their neighbourhoods. Consequently, the Leicester Hebrew Congregation is presenting six photographs by Neil Martinson depicting the Purim celebrations in the Stamford Hill neighbourhood, home to a large Orthodox Jewish community. For over five decades, this photographer has been capturing the lives of the neighbourhood’s residents with enthusiasm, curiosity and a desire to share.
