From the Land of the Rising Sun to Parisian nights under soothing moons. Welcome to this intercultural and interplanetary journey presented by the Jazz and Klezmer Festival. Organised by Laurence Haziza. Taking to the stage that evening will be cellist Mayu Shviro and pianist Yonathan Avishai, coming together to create a poetic universe where contemporary composition engages with ancestral musical traditions, striking a subtle balance between composition and improvisation. In this unique duo, jazz enables the two musicians to express their multiple identities, drawing on Azeri and Yemeni traditions alongside their Israeli heritage. With great sincerity, they share both the joys and the sorrows of their region and history.
