This series of 10 face-to-face lessons, held once a month, is led by Clarisse Brossard. Its aim is to develop the reading skills necessary to analyse historical sources written in Yiddish, focusing on press articles, personal accounts and handwritten archives. Whilst primarily aimed at researchers and students of the Yiddish language, it is open to anyone with an enthusiasm for the subject, though it does require a certain level of proficiency. Clarisse Brossard holds a degree in international relations and is a qualified teacher of Russian. A teacher and translator, she is currently preparing a PhD at INALCO on the Yiddish education system during the era of the Ukrainian People’s Republic (1917–1920), under the joint supervision of Arnaud Bikard and Étienne Boisserie.
