Sant’Antioco

Catacombs of Sant’Antioco. Photo by Daniel Ventura – Wikipedia

This small island located in the south of Sardinia is the home ofcatacombs  which date back to Roman times.

Among them, some have Hebrew inscriptions as was discovered by archaeologists in the area, or rather in Judeo-Latin, a language threatened with extinction.

The inscriptions in these catacombs seem to date from the 4th or 5th century. They are now accessible to visitors.
