Ribadavia

Probably the most interesting judería in Galicia, Ribadavia has kept its old Jewish quarter despite later urban developments. Although it is known Jews were her as far back as the tenth century, few documents about the life of their community remain.

The old synagogue is the building with crests on its facade in the Rua Merelles, which runs between the Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Madalena. In September the locals organize a Festival of the Jews with a costumed parade.
