Thanks to its geographical position and long coastline, this region has been the scene of numerous encounters and conquests. The Valencian Country was formed following the conquests of James I of Aragon in the 13th century. Less well known than Cordoba and Toledo, the town of Sagunto nevertheless bears witness to one of the oldest traces of Jewish presence, dating back to the 2nd century.
